WorkSafe
If you’ve been injured at work, WorkSafe (workers’ compensation) may fund your nursing care, personal care, and rehabilitation support while you recover. Our nurses work alongside your WorkSafe case manager and treating team to support your recovery and return to independence.
How we can help while you recover
Depending on your injury and what has been approved, support can include:
- nursing care, such as wound care and medication support
- personal care when an injury makes everyday tasks difficult
- help to get to appointments with transport support
- rehabilitation with our physiotherapists and occupational therapists
Check what is approved before care starts
Whether a service is covered depends on your claim and on decisions made by your WorkSafe agent, so please confirm approval with your case manager before care begins. WorkSafe Victoria’s information on treatment expenses explains how treatment costs are handled.
Working with your team
With your consent, we can keep your case manager and treating team up to date on how care is going, so everyone is working towards the same recovery goals.
WorkSafe: questions
Do I need approval before I start?
You should check with your WorkSafe case manager first. Call us if you would like to talk through what to ask them.
What if my claim is not approved?
You can still access our services through another route, such as private funding. Call us and we will talk through what is possible.
