Social and community participation

Feeling connected matters. Our social and community participation support helps you get out, meet people and take part in the activities and places that are important to you.

What participation support can include

Depending on your goals and funding, support can include:

  • going along to local clubs, groups and classes
  • outings to cafes, libraries, parks, markets and community events
  • visiting friends and family
  • trying a new hobby, or getting started with volunteering
  • building confidence with getting around your community

Built around your interests

Tell us what you enjoy, or what you would like to try. We match you with support workers who suit you, and we plan activities around your interests rather than a fixed program. For NDIS participants, community participation is one of the supports a plan may include – see our NDIS services and NDIS funding pages.

Staying connected at home, too

If getting out is not possible every week, our companionship service brings good company to you. Getting to events is easier with transport support as well.
