Specialist support

Stomal therapy nurses are specialist nurses who help with stoma care and choosing products. We can talk with you about whether seeing one would help. The Australian Council of Stoma Associations also offers information and support for people living with a stoma.

When to get help

Contact your doctor or nurse promptly if the skin around your stoma is sore or broken, your stoma changes colour, it is bleeding, or you have a fever or new pain. In an emergency, call 000.
