Self-managed
Self-managing your NDIS plan gives you the most flexibility and choice — you pay providers directly and claim reimbursement from the NDIS yourself. This lets you engage any provider, registered or not, including STA Community Nursing & NDIS Services, and negotiate arrangements that suit you.
What self-managing involves
- you pay your providers, then claim the cost from your plan
- you keep records of how your funds are spent (the NDIS suggests keeping them for at least five years)
- you can choose registered or unregistered providers
- you can negotiate arrangements, such as times and rates, that suit you
The NDIS information on self-managed funding explains your responsibilities in detail.
Working with us as a self-managed participant
We will agree the services and prices with you in writing before we begin, and give you clear invoices that make your claims simpler. Our support coordination team can help you get organised if you would like more support.
Is self-management right for me?
It suits people who want maximum choice and are comfortable handling payments and records. If you would rather someone else took care of the paperwork, look at plan-managed support. Your support coordinator or planner can also help you decide.
